CSC specializes in applying the latest information technologies to air traffic management.
With four decades of experience in air traffic management, CSC is active in both developing enhancements to today’s ATM 
system and exploring new operational concepts for future ATM.
CSC specializes in applying the latest information technologies to ATM. This includes business rules, systemwide data and metadata approaches. We also develop new decision support tools and integrate them with legacy ATM systems.
We research, design, develop and deploy new computer systems for:
- Air traffic flow management
- Near-real-time operations and control of air traffic using ground-based and aircraft-based technologies
- Strategic planning (several hours in advance) for near-real-time operations
- Analysis and modeling of potential future operational concepts and future decision support tools
- Security enhancement of the air transportation system
- Modeling of predicted future air transportation loads and potential benefits from new operations concepts and new decision support tools
- Enhanced human-computer interfaces
- Simulation, testing, and data analysis of decision support tools
Why CSC?
CSC has supported the FAA for four decades and has supported NASA for almost as long as the agency has existed. Today we also participate in NASA research efforts, developing new concepts and prototypes for ATM systems of the future. Products developed by CSC under this research model have been prototyped and used in ATM operations.
CSC employees are active participants in the Air Traffic Control Association and regularly provide papers and conference briefings at the annual ATCA Conference. CSC specialists also actively participate in RTCA, the industrywide standards organization for ATM. Many CSC specialists are former professors or currently serve as adjunct professors at colleges and universities.
