Functionality
To meet the needs of public health surveillance, the NEDSS Base System (NBS) provides robust functionality that complements public health practice:
- Patient-centric model
- Virtual File that allows all public health events for a patient to be viewed from one central location
- Support for over 140 different diseases and conditions, including hepatitis, bacterial meningitis and invasive respiratory diseases, general communicable diseases, vaccine preventable diseases, and food-borne and diarrheal diseases
- Automated entry of electronic laboratory reports
- Data entry performed near data sources, drastically reducing reporting time while improving data quality
Technical Overview
