Awards
We're proud of our achievements, both for our clients and as a large employer in the UK. Together with our clients and for our own achievements we've won many top awards including:
Our work with Orange (France Telecom) has resulted in us being awarded the 2011 European Outsourcing Association's Best Practice Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. We helped Orange to create and implement Eco Orange, an inventive and ambitious programme for collecting and recyling mobile phones and other devices, that is not just self-funding but profitable.
The highly regarded UK Business in the Community 8th Corporate Responsibility Index has awarded us Silver ranking. We understand the importance of being a responsible business and are constantly looking at ways we can improve. Two of our key focus areas over the last year have been in community investment and environmental management practices. The progress we have made in these areas is endorsed by our results in the index.
At this year’s Oracle UK Partner Awards CSC received the prestigious Oracle University Partner of the Year award. Oracle has introduced specialisations for many of its products, which requires partners to pass exams to prove they are capable of selling, delivering and supporting them. This award recognises CSC’s commitment over the past year to qualify for Oracle “specialisations” and singles us out as the outstanding performer in this field.
CSC has received two National Outsourcing Association Best Practice in Outsourcing awards — widely seen as the Oscars of the outsourcing industry. We won 'Public Sector Outsourcing Project of the Year' for the Department of Health's Dynamic Desktop project. The award recognised the implementation of our innovative desktop virtualisation solution, Dynamic Desktop, which is enabling the Department of Health to meet challenging efficiency and green targets.
We also won the 'Award for Innovation in Outsourcing' for our implementation at the Royal Mail Group of Cloud-based office services to 28,000 of its employees. This ground-breaking project demonstrates our ability to combine best-of-breed cloud-based technology with an innovative approach to commercial models, to deliver a solution that is focused on meeting Royal Mail’s business needs.
We were given the UK Management Consultancies’ Association (MCA) prestigious award for Most Collaborative Firm. CSC was the outright winner of the “Most Collaborative Firm” category, in this year’s awards, for its work with the NHS, on the National Programme for IT; Royal Mail Group; and the successful implementation and success of Anglian Water’s new debt management solution.
Our life-saving mobile patient care reporting system for the NHS won the Mobile Technology Award at the British Computer Society IT Industry Awards (PDF, 412 KB). The mobile solution enables targeted, high-quality clinical care to be given at any location by enabling ambulance services to access information quickly.
Together with Zurich Financial Services we won the Financial Services Outsourcing Project of the Year at the National Outsourcing Association's Best Practice in Outsourcing awards for an extranet solution for Zurich's UK Life business.
And we won the MCA Management Awards International Category (PDF, 556 KB) for our work for the UK Border Agency.
In our own CSC Chairman's Awards, a CSC-managed mobility service for Royal Mail Group's Tracked + product launch scooped just one of the six awards presented annually.
Of course, as you would expect from a responsible, large UK employer, we hold all the primary accreditations and awards, such as Investors in People. But we're particularly proud to have won a special Gold Award for our Wellbeing programme that runs throughout CSC in the UK. The award was presented by a local government organisation which runs a scheme to recognise those companies who work to improve the health of their employees.
